Spiritual Connections was formed in 1988 by a group of people committed to assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in becoming welcomed members of the faith communities of their choice. Up until this time, there was relatively no support or acknowledgment of their pastoral and spiritual needs. In November of 2006, Spiritual Connections became part of People, Incorporated.
Spiritual Connections matches adults with developmental disabilities with companions who will transport and attend services and social functions with them. The program’s coordinator facilitates and supports these relationships.
