The Community, Child and Family Services Division
provides a wide range of support and services to create
a continuum of care for children, adults and families of
all abilities.
We care about kids!
- High quality childcare services for children of all abilities through the People, Incorporated Children’s Center
- Developmental and therapeutic services for children
birth to 3 through the Early
Intervention Program
- One-to-one school based mentoring for 1st grade through 12th grade through the SMILES Program
- Leadership development and peer mentoring to school age youth through the United
Partnership Program
- Diabetes prevention and support programs for children and teens at risk for, or diagnosed with
diabetes through the Diabetes Association
- A 6-week summer camp for children age 5-14 diagnosed with diabetes, their siblings and friends through The Jack Rua Camp for Children with Diabetes
- After school program for youth, ages 14-21 with
special needs through the FACE Center’s After
School Program
- Community based and on site social and recreation opportunities for children with special needs through the FACE Center

- Home-based education, support and resources to pregnant and new parents through the Healthy Families and Early Intervention Partnership Programs
- Home-based wraparound family support for families
of a child or adult family member with special needs
through the FACE Center
- Childcare and supportive services for Durfee High School teen parents through the Young Parents’ Learning Center
- State of the art center for parent/child play
opportunities through the Community Playroom

disabilities and seniors to live in the community
within a family setting through the Adult Foster
Care Program
- Faith companions to help connect adults with
disabilities to their place of worship through the
Spiritual Connections Program
- Job skills development programs for Fall River
residents through the FACE Center
- Specialized training opportunities for staff and
families through Training and Design Supports
- Increased opportunities for workforce development
